When shopping for a web hosting service, there are many things to consider. Here are a few tips in finding the right one for you.
Free web hosting is fine for personal websites with minimal traffic but if you're planning to sell or advertise, consider investing on a service with a faster server.
The server is where your files will be stored and the bandwidth essentially dictates how much traffic your website will be able to handle. If you've decided to pay for web hosting, plan your website in advance so that you can decide how much files space to procure, and what special services you'll need for things like forums and on-line payment.
It's always a good idea to do a background check on your web hosting service. Don't just Google the company name. Include words like "scam," "complaints" or "overselling" in your search. Overselling happens when clients don't use up all of the resources allotted to them and web hosts decide to sell these to others. When clients decide to use the resources that they've already paid for, the web hosts have none left to give.
